aibvcsdemers:

This week, our new group broke up into three new groups.

Chris and Alicia took charge of the structure, Elijah and Lee worked with Paolo on setting up a Twitter, and Jun and I went to work on the Booklets that were to be displayed on the table.

Jun and I each created a series of four booklets, one to represent each theme. We brought them to class on Wednesday for our larger group to critique. After, Jun and I went back to work, applying our group’s advice to our designs. When we finished, we got our group’s approval, then went to AIB to print!

Sarah’s group and my group continued to work on the central element. Alicia and I built the physical table. We picked up pvc pipes and wood to build it, and luckily Alicia had access to tools to cut the materials to size. Alex was also a huge help in getting the structure to be stable. We used the colored ribbon to represent the four core values. Sarah and Jun brought their ideas together and created the four booklets that are on the table. Again, they used the identity colors and created an interesting visual layout to convey the information.

Sarah’s group and my group were assigned to work on the middle table where all of the core values would come together and highlight the centennial text. Thanks to Alicia who really took the lead on getting the building materials, we were able to build a full scale mock-up of our structure.

The mock-up shows all that we could get at the time, but for the actual table, we’re planning to get clear tubes that run through the table. Each tube will be colored with the colors that are used for the exhibition identity colors.

Alicia and I are going to work on getting materials and assembling the table, deciding how we want the tubes to actually come together. We also want to make sure the table fits visually with the overall identity of the exhibition that Tyler’s group is working on.

Jun, Sarah, and Lee will be each be making versions of a series of booklets for each core value. We plan to meet and decide on what would be best to put on the central table. The booklets will be very typographic and have selected quotes and text that relate to each value.
